Great explainer video tool

Used Doodly for an explainer video. Easy to use. Good selection of prop images. Video exported perfectly. Happy with the purchase.

Good software, slow support

I purchased the Standard Enterprise License a few weeks ago to make some explainer videos for my small business. The software itself is pretty intuitive; I was able to create a decent video quickly, and the custom image uploads feature worked well for branding. However, I had a question about exporting in a specific format, and it took almost three days to get a response from customer service. The answer was helpful once it arrived, but the wait was a bit frustrating. Overall, it's good value for the price, but they could improve their response times.

So much fun!

I got the Doodly Pro and I am absolutely loving it! It's so easy to use, even for someone like me who's not tech-savvy at all. I made an educational video for my kids' school project, and it looked so professional. The Hand Styles are a neat touch, and there are tons of Character Animations to choose from. I'm already planning my next video. Definitely recommend this!

Easy to pick up

I bought the Doodle Video Creator last month to try making some short marketing videos. I'm not super good with tech stuff but this was actually pretty straightforward. I liked that it had a bunch of scene templates to start with, made it way easier. The video exporting worked fine, no issues there. It just felt really simple to use, which was nice.

Are the videos I make with Doodly okay to use for commercial stuff? Like, for my business website or ads?

P Priya M. 1 month ago

Absolutely. All the assets and videos you create are royalty-free for commercial use. That's one of the main reasons I got it.

O Omar 1 month ago

Yup, totally fine for commercial projects. No extra fees or anything for that.

I'm trying to decide between Doodly and VideoScribe. Has anyone used both and can give a quick comparison?

A Anna 2 months ago

I used VideoScribe for a bit before Doodly. Doodly feels a lot more modern and the interface is cleaner, IMO. Plus, the character options and hand styles are better here. VideoScribe felt a bit clunky after a while.

A Andre 1 month ago

Doodly has more flexibility with custom images and stuff, and the drawing animations just look smoother. VideoScribe was fine, but Doodly definitely stepped up its game.

Hey, does anyone know if Doodly ever has those 'lifetime deal' sales? I hate subscriptions and would rather just buy it once.

J Jared B. 1 month ago

Oh yeah, they totally do! That's how I got mine. Keep an eye out around Black Friday or sometimes they just pop up randomly on a promo page. It's usually a one-time payment for full access.

D David 1 month ago

Yeah, I got in on one of those for like $67. Definitely worth waiting for if you can. It's way better than paying monthly.

Is there a free trial for Doodly? I want to try it before I commit to buying anything.

N Nick A. 2 months ago

They used to have one, but I think now it's more about the 30-day money-back guarantee as your 'trial'. You pay, try it for a month, and if you don't like it, you can get your money back.

M Megan Q. 2 months ago

I don't think there's a free version, no. Just the refund window.

I saw some ads for Doodly and it looks cool, but I'm not super techy. Is it actually easy to use for someone who's never done video editing before?

F Faith Z. 2 months ago

Totally! It's drag and drop, really intuitive. I picked it up super fast, and I'm definitely not a pro. They have some good tutorials too.

K Kate J. 2 months ago

Yeah, it's designed for beginners. You literally just pick elements and put them where you want. The animation part is mostly automated.

I saw something about a 'Rainbow Add-on'. What exactly is that and is it worth getting with the standard license?

R Ryan 2 months ago

The Rainbow Add-on basically gives you color options for your doodles. Standard is mostly black and white. If you want colored drawings, you'll need it. Depends on your style.

M Mark Silva 2 months ago

It's a separate purchase, but sometimes they bundle it. Worth it if you want your videos to pop with color instead of just monochrome drawings.

Can I use Doodly on my MacBook and my Windows desktop? Or is it locked to one computer?

M Mark Nguyen 2 months ago

Yeah, you can install it on both! It works on Mac and PC. I have it on my laptop and my work computer, just log in with your account.

C Cleo 2 months ago

Yep, it's cross-platform. No issues there.

Hey, thinking about getting Doodly, but I'm worried about being stuck with it if it's not right. What's their refund policy like?

K Kevin D. 2 months ago

They have a 30-day money-back guarantee. I think I saw it on their site when I signed up. So you have a bit of time to test it out.

G Greg 2 months ago

Yeah, it's pretty straightforward. I didn't need to use it myself, but I remember seeing the 30-day thing. No funny business, should be fine.
